Have you ever had something stress you out so much that you finally had to walk away and let it go?  Let me preface this post by saying that anything in my life that I undertake, I jump in with both feet, give it my all and 99% of the time I have great success (toot toot - that's my own horn blowing).  LOL  Anyhoo...as most of you know, I'm a Home Fragrance Consultant (that's our fancy new title) with Gold Canyon Candles.  I LOVE my business, hands down the best decision I have ever made.

BUT (you knew there had to be one in there somewhere), in order for my business to grow to a full time gig, it requires team building.  Sure, no problem I thought - who wouldn't want to party for a living and put some great money in their pocket at the same time?  In other words, why wouldn't people see this industry the same way that I do?  So I merrily go along my way, partying it up like there's no tomorrow (candle parties that is) and sharing the opportunity with everyone to join my team and do what I do - but not in a pushy, over the top kind of way - I don't roll like that (as my kids say).  Over the past year and a half I had a handful of gals that came onboard, but not nearly as many as I thought would jump at the chance.  After all, unemployment is high and this is a great way for people to make a respectable income.  Other consultants that I talked to had new team members signing up with them on a weekly basis and soaring through the leadership ranks.  WHAT WAS I DOING WRONG??

I talked to my upline and other reps to find out what was working for them, only to find out that they were doing exactly what I was doing.  I was starting to get a complex and really stressing myself out.  I couldn't sleep at night, trying to think of new and inventive ways to build my team.  All I could focus on was finding my little clone LOL.

Finally I had enough and had to let it go.  I decided to go about my daily business, focusing on the party end of things - after all, they are a hoot!!

The very next day - the phone rings.  Yup, you guessed it - someone was interested in becoming a Home Fragrance Consultant and wanted to join my team.  I kid you not - you could have pushed me over with a feather - which is no easy task - LOL.  A couple of days later, Gold Canyon announced a promotion for July - $19.95 to get your starter kit.  Wowsers...that's a great deal.  My phone has been ringing off the hook ever since.  Two new team members in the last week and 3 more ready to roll...and all because I let it go.

Who knew??
