Hi Ladies:

While there are two "C" words that I'm not particularly fond of, the one I'm referring to today is Cancer.

I count myself extremely lucky that no one in my family has ever had to deal with breast cancer.  This past year, two dear friends (one that I grew up with and another is a friend of the family) have sadly been affected, each having their breasts removed.  One is older with grown children and is even a grandmother, the other is a young mom with 3 small children.  In both instances, I've found I've been at a loss as to how to comfort them.  The only words of wisdom that I could think of to offer support for my younger friend was to enjoy the smiles, hugs and laughter of her young children and that would help get her through.

As many of you know, I sell Gold Canyon candles and today I received our Fall & Winter Catalogue along with our Breast Cancer Tribute Candle.  I was moved very much to know that I am working for a company that is so compassionate and would create a special candle to help assist in the funding for Breast Cancer Research.  While I may not have the words to comfort each of my friends, I plan to send each of them one of these candles this week just to let them know that I'm thinking about them.
