Finally, I can show you what we were making in my post a few days ago: glue ghosts and some watching eyes!
Here are 2 of the ghosts - we spread glue thin on some plastic wrap, let it dry, then peeled the wrap off, added......

Tidbits of information I picked up this week:
-
Thinning hair may not be genetics or "something you have to put up with". It can be a warning sign of anemia (check with your doctor who will order tests and prescribe folate if required), or a side-effect of medications. Check with your doctor if you experience increased levels of hair loss after starting new medication, particularly: retinoids, blood thinners, meds for high BP, antidepressants, oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy. It finally happened.
Baby Bot bit Whirlwind.
And he got her good. Tears, hugs and bag of peas kind of good.
Zed and I have been waiting for this day. When we brought Baby Bot home from the hospital Whirlwind began to attack. This is not embellished. She turned into a Mountain Lion.
It took us a while to catch on. We'd hear blood curdling screams from Baby Bot and have no idea what was going on. Pinch. Hit. Squeeze. Carry. Jump on his head. And my personal favourite, bite.
I couldn't go to the bathroom without taking a three day old baby with me.
And we didn't know about the biting until we found the marks on his little body. I sort of couldn't blame her. Babies are so cute. Don' you just just want to bite their little cheeks? Or dip their toes in butter and sour cream?
Anyways...
We were pretty surprised when we heard two blood curdling screams. Turns out Whirlwind was giving Baby Bot a hug when he decided to get her at her most vulnerable.
Atta boy.

Last night my hubby and I enlisted our sitters and went on a date. This was our first date since we had child #2. Needless to say, I was excited, elated and a little anxious.
Leading up to our date, I decided that I wanted our evening to be extra special. We made reservations at our favourite restaurant, I showered (which usually only happens every second day), styled my hair, did my makeup and selected a hot dress to wear! I was ready... but then I started to panic....

So, I'm a total techie.
I love my gadgets, especially those that make life much more simple. Let me introduce you to one of the most awesome things that I have ever come across and for the last 2 weeks has made such a difference in my life.
What is it you may ask?
Well, it's called a Keyport and I think it's the neatest thing since sliced bread.
No jokes.
So, mamas, you know when you prep about an hour and a half to get yourself and the kids ready for an outing or doctor's appointment and somehow your alarm decides not to go off and you are rushing?
Daddy is at work and the kids don't want to wake up and when you finally get the kids ready, you're half dressed--grab your purse, diaper bag, snacks and anything else your kids will need and rush to the van then... With a child on your pant leg and a kid on your hip you have to fumble through your ginormous purse because when you're a mom--the bigger the purse the better--and you can't find your keys!
Your keys, something that you should have taken out before you decided to carry all that stuff, while you're shuffling through your huge purse, you still can't find the keys so you reluctantly have to put everything down. All the while, you need to keep the kids safe while you look for your keys. Alas, you find them and head on your way. Either just making it or your late. All because those darned keys. Well, maybe not JUST because the keys but they ultimately made a bad day worse.
Yes, girls, come on--we've all had days like these.
Quite often right?
Well, this is where Keyport comes in handy.
Literally.
Ladies, let me introduce you to your new best friend.

First of all - you can't tell it is a glowing ghost from this picture (waah!). My boys and I whipped this little guy up yesterday afternoon to figure out how we would make some more for Halloween Night....
Why can't we leave the glowing ghosts out now until Halloween you ask? Well, the idea is to use those "glow bracelets", and they only last about 6-8 hours....so we'll have to make the ghosts Monday afternoon and hang them on the porch!
And, another note - this is a practice version - I'll show you the end result on Halloween, but, in the meantime, I wanted you to have a heads'-up in case you'd like to try as well!
Before I proceed, here is a picture so you'll know what we are talking about:
......well, actually - you'll have to visit http://stjohnsmom.blogspot.com/ for that and the rest of this post!
